Jo Wright Graham's Biography
Jo has always been dedicated to horses and started riding at a very early age. Her parents had no background with horses but were always encouraging and supportive and allowed Jo to follow her first passion into showjumping. Good reults at young rider level were achieved and she was awarded best young rider at Essex County Show on Tarmacadam Lass.Jo produced some normal horses to small grade A standard before they were sold.
Cross country was always a great buzz too and at 16yrs Jo was placed 13th at British Airways Hunter Trial Championships of Gt Britain out of a class of 90! Somehow Jo never took part in British Eventing as a sport.
After passing the British Horse Society Intermediate Teaching Exam Jo decided to run her own yard in Chelmsford, Essex and the business developed well with breaking and schooling clients horses. It was at this time a fascination and then addiction into dressage began mainly due to the warmblood horses Jo was now producing to sell. A niche had developed in the market for a nicely schooled horse with good paces and a small jump. The hardest thing was selling the ones that you loved to ride but thats how it is. Jo took part in Regionals every year and subsequently National Finals.
After 12 fabulous years at Little Drakes Jo met Andrew when she went to DHI to buy a horse. The idea was to become a producer for DHI in the south but Jo and Andrew were both single and a connection between them happened immediately. They both talked the same language regarding horses and romance blossomed.
Fate played its hand in March 2004 when Jo suffered a serious roadcrash where she was treated for dead but escaped with broken bones and disclocations. As a result Jo gave up her business and moved up north to Lancashire.
Marriage followed in November 2006 and now Jo and Andrew together follow ther passion and endeavour to steer DHI Performance Horses to greater heights!
